'Painting' with a camera

Nowadays, more and more people use Photoshop to beautify their photos, creating fancy visual effects. But retired general Gui Quanzhi says no to this seemingly handy software.

He has successfully created these painting-like art pieces, simply by making the best of the original functions of his camera.

There is no computer editing. He says the light is his pigment, and he uses the functions, such as zoom, continuous shooting, multiple exposure and white balance, as his paint brush.

According to Gui, everyone can "paint" with their cameras if they truly acquire the photographing skills. He plans to host an exhibition for his works next year.

The State Intellectual Property Office has already begun to launch a project to protect this special technique.
