China ranked 11th on National Health Index

A list of National Health Index in 2011 was released by a Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) research group. Yang Duogui, the research group leader, pointed out at a press conference on National Health Report that one hundred countries were evaluated in the study and China ranked 11th , standing ahead of Britain, America, Japan and other developed countries.

According to Yang, theoretical indicators from the fields of ethology, sociology, economics and medicine were adopted to assessa country’s health conditions.

Yang also explained to reporters why Chinaoutdid some developed countries. He explained that national health is not people’s health. A nation is like a person, four major branch systems, including metabolisms, immunities, nervous systems and behavior, and 49 indices should be measured.
