Antiques rediscovered in Taiwan

A collector is displaying a group of rediscovered antiques to the public. Twelve years ago, the invaluable items were seized by authorities after being mistakenly designated as fakes.

According to the collector surnamed Chen, the more than 200 pieces have an estimated value of over 1.5 billion New Taiwan Dollars.

All the antiques will go on auction in Beijing this May.
Most of them date back to the reign of Emperor Yongzheng and Qianlong, when imperial China was at its last height of prosperity. They include jade sculptures and imperial seals.

All the antiques will go on auction in Beijing this May.
